Lost in a vortex of thoughts,
tides thrashed me apart.
A pitch-black sky,
flashes of light,
dazed my sight.
Floundering in the whirly waters,
the tumult of the unfathomable twenties
distilled my brittle hopes.
In the midst of the delirium,
stoic as I was,
I soldered my broken parts,
steeling myself to face an invisible enemy.
With an unruffled breath,
A wan smile conquered my face.
I wailed,
“It’s all in my head;
It’s all in my head.”
